In this series of two talks, Sean Kehoe guides us through the book of Jonah. The popular understanding of this book is very different from what you actually see if you look carefully at the text in the Bible. In particular, Sean explains that Jonah was not a coward who was too scared to go to Nineveh. In fact, he was a patriotic Jew who did not want God to show mercy to Israel’s enemies. Sean also explains that when Jonah was in the sea creature, he was dead. Jonah was resurrected again later. That is why Jesus spoke of the “sign of Jonah” when referring to His own resurrection.
