This is the final of several series of talks on Matthew’s gospel by Sean Kehoe. In this series of 19 talks, he takes us through chapters 26 – 28 of Matthew. Sean’s aim is not only to explain the text, but also to draw our attention to how we can apply it in our lives today. (This whole commentary series on Matthew has been divided into several mini series in order to reduce the time required to load up the page.)
These chapters of Matthew’s gospel cover the final days of Jesus’ life including the Last Supper, His illegal trials and the Crucifixion, as well as the Resurrection and the weeks leading up to His Ascension into Heaven. These events are covered by all four gospel writers with each giving their own bits of detail. So, in order to gain a complete picture of that crucial time in the life of Jesus, Sean spends quite a lot of time in these talks looking at the other gospel accounts too.
