The “bad news” – we all face God’s judgment – audio series

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

In this series of 8 talks, Sean Kehoe explains the “bad news” of the Christian message. The gospel, which means good news, only makes sense when we are aware of the bad news of our predicament. Indeed, our situation is terrible without the good news of Jesus. Sean starts by explaining what sin is and considers its dreadfull consequences.

Many of us are tempted to think that only bad people, other people, are sinners, and that we aren’t too bad really. But the fact is that every single one of us is a sinner, and we each sin a lot. To help demonstrate this reality, Sean takes us through the Ten Commandments and shows how we have broken all of them, not just a few of them. So none of us can claim to be without sin.

Jesus Himself spoke very clearly about God’s judgment of unrepentant sinners. Hell and the Lake of Fire are real and they are eternal We will all live forever, and if we do not repent and become a follower of Jesus (a Christian) then we are doomed to spend eternity in Hell and then on to the Lake of Fire. That is a terrible prospect. But the good news is that God has provided us with an escape route, through faith in Jesus. However, it is only available to those who accept that free gift. God does not force His gifts on us. Tragically, most people reject God and will be lost forever, but His invitation is open to every single person, and any sensible person should accept it willingly.
